      TIPS & FEATURES AEuro-Forum - READ!!   10/25/2016

      Tips and Features of AEuromotive Technical Site 1.    Quick Peek Feature:       Hover over any Topic/POST within a Specific Forum or NEW POST.  You’ll notice a pop up window displaying the Original (FIRST POST)
      tab containing the vehicle Information and the Diagnostic Issue.  Next to the FIRST POST tab, there is the LATEST POST tab.
      This is the LATEST Reply to that Topic/POST.  It may contain the FIX,NOT FIXED, or UPDATE to the ongoing Topic/POST. 2.    SEARCH Feature: If you have not tried the SEARCH Engine, I’d advise that you do.
      START at the YELLOW Arrow. Then choose from the flip out flag where you wish to begin your initial search. 
      Use Word, or Words separated by a space or comma.  The more words you enter, the wider the search. 
      DO NOT use words like: the, of, abbreviations will not work.  BE Specific!       You’ll be directed to the second “Refinement Page”.  From there, you can narrow the search criteria, by clicking
      +MORE SEARCH OPTIONS. From there attempt to use both sides of the OPTIONS Menu. 
      USE the SEARCH Engine and get comfortable with navigating it. 2a. TSB/SIB/Recalls/Campaigns SEARCH Feature:       Currently, I am working on having the Feature to SEARCH ONLY for TSB/SIB/Recalls/Campaigns for this site. 
      This is in YELLOW type, as it is currently under development.  I hope to get this to work within the initial SEARCH
      Feature when you CLICK in the SEARCH Field, that "flag" will kick out.  In that Categories list, you'll see a TSB link.
      Within this link, when clicked, you'll choose the MAKE of the vehicle.  Immediately, ENTER all of the WORD or WORDS
      ALL Technical Service Bulletins RELATED to THAT MAKE will be SEARCHED, and DISPLAYED. 
      Quick SEARCH Feature has been refined for shorter results. I have already ran through some tests with BMW, Mercedes and VW/Audi.        IT WORKS!.  Note! I still have hundreds of TSB/SIB/Recalls,Campaigns, and other related Technical Service Bulletins!
      And this is NOT counting the Domestic and Asian Vehicle MAKES!!  OH, Whoa is ME!!
      Approximately 789 additional FACTORY TSB's in General to do for European.....over 1400 additional TSB Documents
      AND HARD, TIME CONSUMING WORK.  IF YOU HAVEN'T NOTICED............YOU ARE NOT LOOKING!! 3.    Technical Documents Tab: By clicking the Technical Documents Tab, you can SEARCH for TSB’s, SIB’s, and Campaigns.
      and Recalls are available to you.  We have over 1500 document of Factory Level that can help. 
      Again, USE the SEARCH Engine to narrow your results.  Get comfortable with using this great resource. 4. HYPERLINKED Text Within REPLIES in the Topic / POST, Hyperlinks can be added to that reply, or an original Topic / POST.
      It is important that the browser that you are using is set to OPEN a new TAB when a click is clicked. In MOZILLA Browser, quite easy to do.
      Go to the top of your MOZILLA browser and click TOOLS > OPTIONS > GENERAL (on the left sidebar). 
      Then check the check box that states "Open New Windows in a new tab instead" Then, when you click a helpful Hyperlink, a new tab, and windows will open to your top right and will go to the
      hyperlinked page! WARNING!! I would advise, if you are NOT "Computer Literate"....NOT to attempt to Hyperlink Text, as this
      may cause damage to your POST.  ONLY Experienced, "Computer Savvy" Technicians are capable of
      doing this action. 5. STORE Page Check out our STORE.  We have a number of items from Diagnostic Machines, Scanners, Software,
      Training Manuals, and anything that you may wish to purchase.  If it's not there....contact us regarding
      your needs.  We are there to service your everyday Diagnostic and Computer needs.....ALL OEM. NONE of our scanners and Diagnostic Computers are "CLONES, or CLONED" Software.  It is all
      within the "LEGIT" realm for ONLINE and OFFLINE Diagnostic Purposes.  Technology can be your

Member Map This FEATURE is used by ALL Members to locate another Member.  This FEATURE is useful to: Locate another Member in the AREA for help Locate a Member who can help your customer stranded in another Member's Area Quick Location of all the Members of this Collective Help each other make $$$$$$$$$$$$$ Please click the Member Map tab, and register your location.  This system works well for
      all of the Members and may provide you with valuable information, in which to promote
      your Facility!           7. CLOSING/Updating your Topic/POSTS            It is imperative that ALL Topic/Posts are updated on at least a weekly basis, while also, CLOSING your
                Topic/POSTS when you have completed your repairs.  ALL POSTS MUST be CLOSED within 21 Days, or
                updated to keep your ongoing POST from being suspended.           Every time a Member Logs into the site, that member can check how many POSTS he has opened. 
                When first logged in, you will see an initial screen with all of the ongoing POSTS that are OPEN.

                If there are more than 3 OPEN or ongoing POSTS, the Member will NOT be able to add another
                Topic/POST, until one of the 3 POSTS are CLOSED.  If by chance you missed that opening screen
                follow this procedure to see what POSTS are currently OPEN.          Click the “Activity” tab > then click “My Activity Streams” > then click “My Open Topics.
               My Open Topics LIST has been modified to ONLY show the OPEN POSTS without REPLIES. 
               This will make for shorter SEARCHES of your OPEN POSTS.          This will display all of your current OPEN POSTS.  From there, you can close them, if you forgot to,
               or they are NOT FIXED, or FIXED.  PLEASE, be detailed in the last REPLY, so this will help another
               Member at some time, whether you FIXED or did NOT FIX the vehicle.  Details are what help us all, so
               please be a productive Member of this site.  I for one will appreciate your efforts. There is a NEW Feature that I have had out Guru Programmer to the site: 2/13/2017 This feature incorporates a "Back to TOP" Button at the bottom of the POSTS Some POSTS are lengthy in information, which makes scrolling the page, or pages time consuming.  Every little bit
      adds up while researching.  TIME is $$$$$, as I always preach.  So now, when needed, you can scroll to the bottom
      of the POST, then click the "Back to TOP" button to go to the top of that POST.         8. FACEBOOK & Twitter Links         For now, located by the AEuromotive Logo, you'll see some small Facebook & Twitter links.  Mind you,
              these will be replaced with larger ICONS.  This is being worked on as I type.  My coder is getting this accomplished.
              For now, they are linked to the AEuromotive Facebook, and to Peter's Twitter Account LIVE.  I DON'T "TWEET"
             You wish to know my opinion...........better grow an extra inch of skin, then call me and ask.
             Try them, use this to contact Peter.        Again, when this TEXT turns White, it is totally implemented!         9. PICTURES IN POSTS         This FEATURE has been implemented.  When inserting a picture within the POST, make it as small as possible
              to fit within the constraints of the frame.  Any one can then CLICK on the PICTURE to open a new window and
              see the LARGER Version that you had uploaded to the POST.  Please try to keep the original picture within
              2 - 3 MEG in size!  Once you upload the picture, click on that picture and use the corners to shrink
              to fit.
             You can also resize the pictures you add to the POST.  Once you save the POST, click on the picture, you'll
             have the Feature to scroll through all pictures resized in your POST.       10. F5 "REFRESH" Feature         This has always been a WINDOWS Feature, but I thought I'd put this up for those that didn't know:         I have tested FF, IE7, Opera and Chrome.    F5 usually updates the page only if it is modified. The browser usually tries to use all types of cache as much
             as possible and adds an "If-modified-since" header to the request. Opera differs by sending a "Cache-Control: no-cache"        CTRL-F5 is used to force an update, disregarding any cache. IE7 adds an "Cache-Control: no-cache", as does FF,
            which also adds "Pragma: no-cache". Chrome does a normal "If-modified-since" and Opera ignores the key. 11. InfoServer 1 and VMDiagnostics Server InfoServer 1 and VMDiagnostics are already in progress, as InfoServer 1 will be comprised of the following Technical
      Information: 1. ISO Diagnostic Programs updated on a weekly basis.  You will need an ISO Application to unzip, or run these programs
          on a "Virtual DVD" 2. PDF Diagnostic Training and Information Documents, requiring you to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your
          computer.  You can get it here for FREE: https://get.adobe.com/reader/ 3.   InfoServer 1 is completed and ALMOST ready to connect to this site.  We are waiting for our security license, and our
           OpenVPN setup.  The SSL (Secure Socket Layer) Certificate is in the process of being issued. And STILL waiting!! 4.   All European, Asian and Domestic Makes and Model Information and User Manuals 5.   All Downloads from the InfoServer 1 will be monitored by Platinum Members that do so.  So I can run a report of
           what and when a download occurred.  Limit is 6 - 8GB per Day VMDiagnostics will be comprised of the following Technical Information: Launch Date for February 2017 This InfoServer 2 is a 4.6+GHz machine with up to 64 Gig of RAM and SSHD (Solid State Drives)
      as to prevent lag and slow response as most Virtualized Systems are. This is no "Puppy" System,
      "Full Tilt Boogie" Machine!! 1.   Virtual Programs running LIVE on this Server for Members to access and use Daily (Charge per Day Access) a.  Mercedes
      b. BMW
      c. Mini Cooper
      d.  Volkswagen
      e. Audi
      f. Any other European Make that I can get their FACTORY Programs to run on a  "Virtual Platform"
      g. Domestic Makes (GM, FORD, Chrysler, etc.)
      h.  Asian Makes (Honda, Hyundai, KIA, Mitsubishi, etc.)
      i.  Any Diagnostic Programs that can be "Virtually" operational, I will do so With ALL of the above upcoming Technical Systems coming on line....YOU will be responsible
      for Downloading and Installing these programs...............NOT me.  it is the responsibility of the USER,
      that will have to sign off on the agreement to download and install the programs.  Instructions are included

P12A2 Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor High

This vehicle came in to us with a check engine light complaint, had code P12A2 fuel rail pressure high,

we found the in tank pumps were weak, replaced pumps, regulator, and filter. 


We drove the car and it set the light/code again.  We then replaced the fuel pressure sensor, same problem.  

We then replaced the high pressure fuel pump and now it takes longer to set the fault but it still sets the fault. 


The car runs fine under load, intermittently it has a very slightly rough idle. 

We have smoke tested the intake, no leaks found.  We checked the crankcase for excessive vacuum, seems normal. 


We are not sure why it is setting that code or what the criteria for setting that code is. 


Most of our research shows that people have fixed this problem in the past with either in tank pumps or high pressure pumps or

vacuum leaks or failed crankcase vent valves built into valves covers.


We are not sure where to go from here.

I would test the fuel pressure first and compare it to fuel pressure live data scan values,

If different, I would suspect the fuel pressure sensor.

What are the low/ high pressure readings at idle & 2500 rpm?

Take off the high pressure pump and check the lobe that drives the pump it might be worn out

if the lobe was out of time

the system would see hi pressure at the wrong time


the lobe could shift on the cam  or 

cam timing is off

MVB 93 3 will show delta cam timing

MVB 94 is cam timing basic setting test    must run and pass   every time engine is started   resets with key so look at the value

after driving BEFORE switching engine to off


MVB 103 shows low fuel pressure IF equipped with a low side sensor

MVB 106 shows hi side pressure , key on engine off   value should CLIMB to 3x idle value   with hot engine , if not you have  a leak in hi side fuel somewhere


MVB 32 shows fuel trim adaptives   always post  this value block when going after anything related to  fuel trim / delivery / pressure / misfire 

MVB 37 shows delta value betwixt front and rear 02 sensor s,   must be  about zero 


last and least  likely

kink or clogg in  return line

At Diagnostic Hotline we've seen a number of issues concerning these codes 

HPFP pressures can be skewed bc HPFP Timing issues. Broken Chain Guide etc.....

Too bad Porsche doesn't use VAG 
no mvb to use to see Desired vs Actual cam delta timing. Durametric and Autologic doesn't show desired and actual cam timing :(

P0674 (P12A2)

ck Valve Cover Assembly
ck fuel trims & move nylon plastic hose in back of the motor (2nd part hose from brake booster)
ck Vacuum Lines / Hoses
ck for high in the crankcase. 
   The crankcase pressure regulating valve is part of the cylinder head cover (Valve Cover). 

Remove vacuum supply hose from the intake to the housing. 
   If the vacuum in the crankcase goes away, the issue is with the crankcase pressure regulating valve. 

If its failed Replace the complete Cylinder Head Cover (Valve Cover)

A failed crankcase pressure regulating valve & CCV (breather system) can cause many performance issues. 

- excessive crankcase vacuum 
- lean fuel trims %
- Intermittant misfires 
- whistling Noises 
- High oil consumption 
- Smoky exhaust
